Aisha Leach

Aisha Alexandria Leach made her transition to be with Christ on March 14, 2022. Aisha was born January 13, 1982, in Macomb, Illinois, to Mavis Staley and Randy Lee Leach.

Aisha was an ambitious, compassionate woman who lived her life with impeccable integrity and who was steadfast in her love for Jesus. As a devout Seventh Day Adventist one could find her on any given Friday evening bringing in the Sabbath reflecting on the glory of God, “Happy Sabbath,” a phrase Aisha often spoke with a beautiful joyous smile.

Living a life of service to family and community was essential to Aisha. Aisha’s dedication to serving her community reflected in her career choices receiving a B.A. in Criminal Justice, M.A. in Social Work/Women and Gender Studies and Public Administration. Aisha’s tenacity for knowledge led her to travel to India and Ireland. Aisha was luminous when she told stories about her explorations in India experiencing various cultural traditions.

Aisha strongly believed in empowering underserved populations and volunteered at various food pantries, mentored youth and was an advocate for prisoner reentry reform.

Aisha’s life was a living example of her favorite Bible Verse, Philippians 4:13- “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Aisha is preceded in death by her younger sister, Akaiya; grandmother, Emma (George); and aunt, Dorothy Elliott. Aisha is survived by her mother and father, Mavis, and Randy (Emily); sisters, Iyana, Kenya, Markell (Shayne), Lashanda, and Avery; her two brothers, Yusuf, and Kadeem (Raley); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and uncles.
