Annette, the oldest of three children, was born December 12, 1948, to Johnnie Mae, and Milton Riley, Sr. Annette attended Grant, and Dodge Elementary School, as well as John Marshall and Manley High school. She worked several customer services jobs until she married Willie Hudson. Their union produced three children, Ida LaSean, LaGwanda affectionately known as Gigi, and LaNette Michele. The love Annette, and Willie shared also brought them a fourth daughter, Lakesha Monique Hudson-Walls. Annette is preceded in death by her husband, Willie Hudson; granddaughter, Jameia Walls; father, Milton Riley, Sr.; two brothers, Milton Jr., and Michael Riley; nephew, Allen Brown; and god daughter, Kimberly Brown.
Annette, benevolently called Mrs. H., worked as a Parent Liaison for Chicago Public Schools for well over twenty years. Annette was very passionate, devoted, and reliable in her works during her career. She worked diligently with the administration staff to enrich the education and lives of students, both in elementary and secondary education levels. During her career, Annette also worked in collaboration with such programs as Cradle to the Classroom, Title I, (ESEA) Elementary and Second Education Act, which helped to develop the (NCLB) No Child Left Behind Act. Annette was a very feisty, outspoken, yet dedicated advocate for both students and parents. If you wanted it done Mrs. H. was the one to bring it to the table. No matter when or where, someone always reminded us that Mrs. H was always their favorite. Annette often assisted teachers with her creative art and craft skills. Her focus was ensuring that her daughters, and other students excelled in their continued education.
Annette lived a joyful life, often playing hostess during many family, and friend engagements. Her health started to decline after the death of her husband in 2012, which ended their forty-year union. Annette fought a great battle, until GOD said “no more,” and called her home February 22, 2021.
Annette leaves to cherish her memories, her mother, Johnnie Mae Riley; four daughters, Ida, Gigi, LaNette, and Monique (Jamal); ten grandchildren, Herbert Nathan, Ireanna, Traquan, Darren, Jamal, Jameriya, Jamel, Walter, Jnoah and Demetria; three nieces, Allene, Eunice, and Jennifer; four nephews, Eugene, Thomas (Vernice) Milton III (Cavona), and Jason; one sister-in-law, Linda Riley; god daughter, Vanetta King-Lemon (Mario); and a host of uncles, cousins, relatives, and friends.
