Christian McDougald

The Lord giveth and he taketh away. 

On May 27, 2021, God called his angel home to rest. Christian Ian McDougald took his Master’s hand and stepped into eternity. Christian was born in San Diego, California, on August 22, 1989, to Gregory and Tyra McDougald.

Christian accepted Christ at an early age. 

Christian was born to duel military parents, therefore he was raised around the world. Christian graduated from Salem High School in Virginia Beach, Virginia, in 2007.

Christian followed in his parents footsteps and enlisted for active duty in the United States Navy in 2008. He was an Operational Specialist on the USS Carl Vinson Station in San Diego, California until 2012. After serving his country Christian reunited with his mom in Maywood, IL.

Eagerly ready to continue to serve his country, Christian became a dedicated employee for the United States Postal Service as a laborer custodian at the Cardiss Collins Facility. 

Christian took great pride in distinguishing himself as a loving, supportive, and protective father to his only child, his son, Kamari.

Christian is preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.

Christian leaves to cherish his memory, his loving son, Kamari; loving mother, Tyra McDougald; loving father, Gregory McDougald (Edith); two brothers, Eric J. McDougald, and Thomas McDougald; one sister, Sommer Wurtz; aunts, Gwendolyn Shields, Carolyn McElroy, Marilyn Wallace, and Sylvia Ward; uncles, Thomas E. McDougald (Delores); Larry Barlow (Myra); great aunt, Hazel Tuner; great uncle, LZ McGrencey; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
