Maxie Cornelia Sherrod was born the baby girl to Jimpson Smith and Ida Mae Jackson on July 4, 1942.

Cornelia was a long-time member of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church of Bellwood, IL (Adulthood) and Bethel Baptist Church of Louisville, MS (Childhood) Cornelia departed this life on December 3, 2024; surrounded by her family and friends.

Leaving to cherish her precious memory are her loving husband, Robert; sons, Robert (Tonya); Kevin (Theresa); daughter, Georgia (Luther); sister, Ethel McMiller; brother, Robert Smith (deceased) (Catherine); grandchildren, Araina, Kiyah, Robert Vincent, and Darin Rodrick; Nephews, Jeffery and Anthony; Niece, Kathy Renae; Brother-n-Laws, Willie Sherrod (Felicia); John Sherrod (Edise); Delaine Sherrod (Lee); Sister-n-law, Catherine Wiltz (Gabriel); Loving and devoted friends, Marilyn Idowu; Annette Winfield Sherrod (deceased); Gloria Arnold, Willie Bostic, Stephanie Clinton, Eddie Sewell, and Mildred Goodwin.
