Dave was born September 22, 1960, to LeRoy and Helen in Chicago, IL. He was the second born.
Dave attended St. Joseph M.B. Church until his health failed him. Dave loved to hunt, and he also had a love for fast cars, which he worked on himself.
Dave received his GED from the State of Georgia and went on to the United States Army Engineers School. He also attended Lakeland College for Criminal Justice.
Dave worked as an Engineer in the US Army and drove semi-trucks for the National Guard. Dave drove forklifts for over 20 years before becoming a Laborer with the City of Chicago.
Dave always had a story or joke to tell. He had many friends. Even when he wasn’t feeling his best, he tried to make you smile. Dave lost his battle Saturday March 13, 2021.
Dave is preceded in death by his mother, Helen Scurlock; father, LeRoy Dawson; brother, Vincent Dawson; and his grandparents.
Dave’s memories will be cherished by his wife, Estella Dawson; daughter, Angela Dawson; two aunts, Delores, and Marion; mother-in-law, Flora Wright; three sisters-in-law, Barbara, Paulette, and Sheila; one brother-in-law, Anthony (Deada); three step children, Edward, Zerick (Tiesha), and Terranika (Ervin); two step grandchildren, Perrier and Pierre; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
