Demetrius Little, Jr.

Demetrius D. Little “Mechie” was born October 2, 1991, to the proud parents of Shapree Little and Demetrius Little at West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park, IL.

Demetrius “Mechie” attended church at an early age. He began his education at Jefferson Elementary, Helen E. Hefferan, and John Marshall High School.

Mechie was born to lead and that’s what he did! He was a natural LEADER and known for being a finesser. He could sell water to a whale. Mechie loved people, pets, and stray animals. He welcomed everyone.

On June 19, 2023, God looked around his garden and found an empty place. He then looked down upon the earth and saw Mechie’s tired face. He put his arms around Mechie and lifted him home to rest.

Demetrius was greeted into heaven by his grandfather, Jessie Stovall; and uncle, David Harris.

From Heaven, Mechie will be watching over his mother, Shapree Little; father, Demetrius Little (Marliss Iaim); five children, Jamarion Collins, Danylia Spates, Demetrius Little, Jr., Antoinette Little, and D’Mari Little; grandmothers, Josie Howard, and Lucile Davenport; two brothers, Demiko Little, and Vernon Weaver; three sisters, Daniyia Little, Kea’Little-Liam, and Zoey Little-Liam; his favorite uncles, Cupree Howard, and Jenovis Sanders; and favorite cousin, Tiara White; a host of aunts, uncle, cousins, friends; and a special lady, Karen Harris.
