Dorothy Jean Manning was born on July 19, 1946, to Carry Lee Dorsey in Clayton, Alabama. Dorothy was the third oldest of seven siblings.
Dorothy accepted Christ at an early age in her native hometown of Clayton, Alabama, where she attended a Baptist church and was a member of their choir. She continued nurturing her relationship with the Lord after becoming a resident in Illinois and became a member of First Baptist Church of Bellwood for 10 plus years with her children. She later became a member of Living Word Christian Center with her husband Don and her daughters and attended for 15 plus years.
Dorothy worked at Park De-Watt for many years while attended nursing school at Triton College in River Grove. She was later employed at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, IL for the latter part of her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
In heaven, Dorothy will join her brothers, Bobby, Earl and Billy Dorsey; and youngest sister, Francine.
Dorothy leaves to cherish her loving memories, her husband, Donald Manning; three daughters, Marlo, Mia, and Millicent; stepson, Donald Manning, Jr.; thirteen grandchildren, Candace, Joy, Zarell, Tianna, Joe Jr., Raevyn, Zavell, Asibayo, Brittany, Khala, Jaelynn, Raysean, and Jelani.
