Gregory Moore Obituary

Gregory Moore was born December 20th, 1964 to the union of Louis and Charlotte M Moore in Chicago, Illinois. He was the second of two children born to that union. He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Moore.

Greg was baptized at an early age at Lawndale Christian Reformed Church (CRC) and attended and completed Catechism during his formative years there. Several years later, at Lawndale CRC, he renewed his Christian faith, and was baptized June 26, 2011. He went on to serve as a deacon (2013) and a member of the audio tech team at Lawndale for many years.

Greg received his education and graduated from Lane Technical High School. He also received his Bachelor of Liberal Arts in Marketing Communications from Columbia University, Chicago, IL.

Greg, was an avid comic book collector and had a collection of over 500 comic books some of them 1st editions. Ask him anything about the comics or the Marvel Comics Universe (MCU) and he could talk for hours about the origins, middle, and endings of any of the MCU superheroes, often sharing his love for comics with his niece, nephews, great-nephew, cousins and any other family/friends that would listen.

He had a love of sports with basketball being his favorite. He played in many different post-high school leagues, earning him the name of 'Greg Jordan". He was funny and quick witted often leaving you laughing after having a conversation with him.

Greg also was a member of the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity organization, pledging the Upsilon Sigma Chapter, April 14, 2012 along with Curtis McNeely his line brother. The name of his ship was SS2 speed ad his line name was 45 RPM.

He was a loyal and devoted son, always making sure that his mother was well cared for and supported, a protective and loving brother of his big sister and a fun great uncle to his niece, nephews and great-nephew always giving them his undivided attention and love whenever they spent time together.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving mother, Charlotte Moore-Harris, sister, Tanya 'Machele' Smith-Johnson; niece & 3 nephews, Gabriell, Joshua, Ethan & Jeremiah, 1 great-nephew, Jackson; Aunts: Elmira Moore, Lonnie Simmons, Vernice (Earl) Fletcher, special 1st cousins: Deborah (Alvin) Brown, Cassandra Chapman, Vanessa (Paul) Peoples, Karla (Anthony) Carrell, Errick (Monica) Fletcher, Donnie (Lisa) Fletcher, west coast cousins: Terri (Roy) , Leodis , Gail, Margie, Benita, Vernon and other west coast cousins and a host of extended family, other relatives and friends.
