Helen Weathers

God saw fit to lone us one of his greatest angels who walked on this earth.

Helen W. Weathers was born on December 12, 1934, in Chicago Illinois to the union of Maria Moore and William Bush, both preceded her in death, along with her two siblings, Doris Shelby, and William Bush, Jr.  

Helen attended New Canaan Land Missionary Baptist Church. 

Helen attended Oakland Elementary School and DuSable High School in Chicago, Illinois. 

Helen spent her working career employed at the Marriott Corporation and The Cook County Hospital, retiring in the early 90’s Helen was a social butterfly, loved her entire family, and she was a dancing queen; she could dance all night long. 

Helen and Elijah had a long courtship and on December 4, 1993, Helen married the love of her life!

Although we were not prepared to depart with Helen, on February 12, 2021, beyond the pearly gates she walks on golden streets, her feet have been dipped in the crystal sea, no words we can compose can ever compare to the beauty she sees. Beholding our father face while holding her savior’s hand. Angels all rejoicing that Helen enters the Promised Land. 

Helen is preceded in death by:  her parents, Maria Moore and William Bush; siblings, Doris Shelby, and William Bush, Jr.; and one great grandson, Rayveon D. Hutchins.

Helen leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Elijah Weathers; daughter, Annette Hutchins; three grandchildren, Riccardo Hutchins (Jeanen), Raquel Curry (Lovell), and Royell McDowell (Dennis); ten great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.   Helen was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend to many and will be greatly missed by all.

Helen beautiful spirit reached so many that they cannot all be mentioned, we must acknowledge one special individual in her life Rhonda Bush-Price, Helen truly loved you.
