James Wilson was born on July 16, 1943 in Tuscaloosa, AL to Corean (Jones) and Lewis Wilson. He was the fourth child of eight children. At an early age he professed his faith in Christ and attended Elizabeth Baptist church.
After graduating from Druid high school James was drafted into the United States Army where he served and was later honorably discharged.
James worked for UPS as a transportation engineer for 30 years before he retired.
On March 29, 2007 he married Louise Moore. Besides a wife he gained a loving daughter, granddaughters and great grandchildren. James and Louise lived in Alabama until they move back to Chicago in 2021 where they lived until James was called home. James enjoyed buying new houses and buying new cars. He enjoyed traveling and going to church. During his time in Chicago he loved spending time with his family. The one thing that he loved the most was his honey, Louise. He always wanted to be wherever she was.
James was called home on December 4, 2022. He was at his new home with his wife where he passed away peacefully in his sleep.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father Corean and Lewis; three brothers Lewis, Charles and David Lee; three sisters Stella Grace, Ada Mae and Barbara Ann and his oldest son James.
James leaves to cherish his memories: His loving wife Louise, sister Ernestine of Tuscaloosa, AL; Son Cederick of Rockford, IL; Daughter Deborah(Moore) Perez(Bill – deceased) of Chicago, IL; Two granddaughters Catherine Owens of Chicago, IL and Samantha(Samori) Sykes of Chicago, IL; One grandson Christopher James of Rockford, IL; four great-grandchildren KuJuanis, Keondre, Charles and Samone; and one great-great-grandchild Aaliyah Rose; a close family friend Denise Reed of Chicago, IL; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, friends, neighbors and fellow transportation engineers.
