Jerry Walton

Jerry Walton was the second born and twin of him and his brother James Walton, Jr. born on February 14, 1945, in Council Bluffs, Iowa to the union of Ella Ruth and James Walton, Sr. both parents preceded him in death.

The Walton family eventually migrated to Chicago and there Jerry attended Crane H.S. After H.S. they moved to Maywood Illinois and shortly after around the age of 18, Jerry decided to enlist into the U.S. Army. He went from June 28, 1962, until 1965.

He also fought in and survived the Vietnam War.

He was employed at Hines VA in Waco, Texas.

On his return to Maywood, he landed employment doing maintenance work until retirement.

Jerry had a loving and funny character. He also loved family time, especially with his grandchildren. He enjoyed rebuilding computers and at one point enjoyed dog training all breeds of dogs.

Jerry departed this life on December 4, 2024, at Hines VA, Maywood, a place he served and worked for many years.

He leaves to cherish three daughters, Gwen Neal, Ruth Ann Walton Hopgood (Anthony), and Crystal Walton Weatherspoon (Thomas); four siblings, James Walton, Jr., Gloria Walton, Kenneth Walton, and George Walton (Flora); sister in-law, Alida Walton who preceded him in death; eight grandchildren, Selmon Rogers III, Xavier Rogers, Rashaad Chamberlain, Parrish Weaver, Dynastie Smith, Janay Hopgood, Natasha Ford, and Natisha Rogers; a hosts of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
