Katherine Sparks affectionately known as Pepper to family and friends, also known as Pupa to her four loving children, was born on June 12, 1953, in Friars Point Mississippi to Nettie Riley, who preceded her in death.
In 1962, Katherine along with two of her siblings relocated to Chicago Illinois, to be raised by their aunt Elizabeth Lewis, who also preceded her in death.
Katherine received her formal education in the Chicago Public School System. She met and married James Sparks in 1974, and to this union four beautiful children were born.
Katherine’s top priority in life was to be the most dedicated mother and grandmother that she could possibly be in which she has exceeded the standards.
On January 8, 2022, our Heavenly Father relieved Katherine of all of her pain and called her to Glory to rest. Katherine is being welcomed to heaven by her love ones who preceded her in death, her mother, Nettie Riley; aunt, Elizabeth Lewis; three brothers, Joseph Riley, Lloyd Riley, and Eddie Riley; brother-in-law, Wayne Hasell.
Katherine leave to cherish her sweet memories her four beautiful children, Terrence Sparks, Tarena Sparks, Tamala Sparks, and Tunisia Sparks-Davis (and her very special Son In-Law Antonio Davis); 13 beloved grandchildren, Quashay, Katherine, Taquisha, Terrence Jr., Trequan, Terrianna,Tashondre, Teantun, Joseph, Tunaija, Shavontae, Tremayne, and Josiah; one god granddaughter, Uniyah Hunter; ten great grandchildren, with one on the way; three sisters, Shirley Huctherson, Joyce Davis (Theodore Davis), and Annette Hasell; one special sister, Susan Bell; two special in-laws, Janie and Charlie Livingston; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
