Melvin McCollum

Melvin C. McCollum was born March 28, 1941, in Mendenhall, Mississippi, to the late D.C. and Rosina McCollum. 
Melvin accepted Christ at an early age. 

Melvin received his high school diploma from Farragut High School. He enlisted in the Army in the early 1960’s. 

Melvin worked at John Stroger Hospital Core Center for over 20 years before retiring. 
Melvin was called home on September 30, 2021. 

In heaven, Melvin will join his father and mother D.C. and Rosina McCollum; his sister, Shirley Green; and son, Keith Pendleton. 

Melvin leaves to cherish his loving memory, his loving wife of 45 years (together 54 years), Linda McCollum; sons, Kelvin and Haji McCollum; four siblings, Effie McCollum of Cedar Rapids, IA, Mary Spears and Barbara McCollum both of Chicago, IL, and Donald McCollum (Kathy) of Bellwood, IL; his loving grandchildren, and a great grandchild; and a host of family, and friends.
