Michael Forest Mixon, Jr., was born on May 1, 1958, in Chicago, IL to Michael and Nedra Mixon. Michael is preceded in death by his dad; brother, Dennis A. Mixon; and nephew, Steven A. Mixon.
Michael belonged to St. Stephen Church at an early age, accepted Christ later on and joined First Congregational Church.
Michael attended Brown School and graduated from Crane High School. At an early age he joined the Navy and was a very proud veteran. He had hoodie, caps, and pants with the Navy Logo.
Many young men looked up to Michael because of his personality and the way he dressed. He followed in his uncle and great uncle playing cards, dominos, and loved the game of hockey.
Michael was a loving son, and father to Nedra Mixon and Earaina Mixon.
Michael had an accident in 2006 and never was the same, however he hung in there until his passing on April 25, 2026, his daughter’s birthday a gift from God.
He leaves to cherish his memories a loving mother, Nedra; daughter, Earaina; grandson, Quentine; four brothers, Aaron K. Collins (Daphne), Larry B. Mixon (Benita), Alvin K. Collins (Kim), and Phillip Mixon; one sister, Micheline; two special friends, Sheldon and Arlanda; auntie, Geraldine and Zonice Gregory; uncle, Calvin Gregory; godsister, Kimberly, Steele Beverly Fallon; and a host of many friends and relatives.
