Ollie Jackson

Ollie Jackson Obituary

Ollie Jackson was born to the union of Jennie and Sol Turner on Monday, March 11th, 1935. To this union, 11 additional children were born; all of whom preceded Ollie in death.

As a young mother, Ollie confessed hope in Christ at First Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago, IL, under the late Reverend J.L. Topps.  She raised 8 children in the city of Chicago along with her sisters and their children. While being the matriarch of the family, she dedicated her free time to her grandchildren and her church. Much loved by her community, Ollie could always be found at First Bethel.  In her later years, Ollie moved to the suburbs to be closer to, and taken care of by her loving daughter and grandchildren.  She lived in comfort and took part in family outings, enjoying Medea movies, old westerns, listening to oldies music with her beloved friend Rachel, and Medieval Times tournaments, where she fondly told of when she was young and would partake in horse riding competitions.

God saw Ollie getting weary and whispered for her to come rest on Wednesday, April 28th, 2021. She was comfortable, at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Ollie was preceded in death by her parents, Jennie and Sol; her siblings, Henry, Clifton, Charles, Benny, Jewel, Benjamin, Walter, Arthur, Gertrude, Maybell and Lane; her children, Leon, Bobby and James; and her beloved grandchild Joseph.

Ollie leaves to cherish, her children: Trudy Jackson, Judy Hernandez (Marcos Sr.), Lewis Jackson, Fred/Felicia Jackson, and Billy Jackson; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
