Phyllis Harris was born on April 12, 1942, to Ed Key and Mary Lee Harris in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Phyllis married Isaiah Thomas (Chico) Harris on August 5, 1957, and to that union, six children were born.
She had a strong faith in Christ and displayed it until the very end. Phyllis was a very busy stay at home mom. She attended after school activities for all her children and grandchildren. She was also a girl scout leader. She helped everyone she could; never asking for anything in return. She prepared meals and delivered them to the homeless as often as possible.
Phyllis Harris departed this life comfortably at her home on November 23, 2021.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Isaiah (Chico) Harris; her son, Ronald Harris; daughter, Angela Harris; brothers, Willie L. Harris, and Stanley Simmons; her great great grandson Cameron Harris, Jr.; and both parents.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Fabion Harris of Oak Park, IL, Felecia Harris of Oak Park, IL, Roslyn Mathews of Westchester, IL, Darrin Harris of Oak Park, IL, and Shanika Harris of Forest Park, IL; 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; her brothers, Frederick (Flen) Harris, Curtis (Vann) Harris, Roosevelt (Teresa) Harris, and Joey (Joyce) Simmons all of Tuscaloosa, AL; her sisters, Brenda Simmons, and Alicia Jackson both of Tuscaloosa, AL; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
