Robbessie McJunkins was born on December 28, 1929, in Oxford, Mississippi, to her loving parents, Bessie Mae and Bud Wiley.
Robbessie was the eighth of nine children. Robbessie dedicated her life to Christ at an early age in Oxford, Mississippi.
Robbessie attended Oxford Mississippi Elementary School. As a young woman, Robbessie migrated to Chicago, Illinois from Oxford, Mississippi.
Robbessie worked at North Chicago Laundry for over 20 years until she retired.
Robbessie was known to love to have her nails polished, play card games, and watch her game shows.
Robbessie endured failing health her last two years until the Lord called her to rest on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at 8:55 p.m., at West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park, Illinois.
Robbessie was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Cassandra McJunkins; one son, Larry McJunkins; two sisters, Etta Mae Martin, and Minnie O. Powell; six brothers, Sam Wiley, Louis Wiley, Henry Wiley, Arthur Lee Wiley, Acey Wiley, and W. Wiley.
Robbessie leaves to celebrate her memory, one daughter and best friend, Mae F. Fields; two sons, Euford McJunkins, and Theron McJunkins (Mary); two grandsons, Melvin T. Fields (Pamela), and Larry Wall; four granddaughters, Vickie M. Allen, Darnita L. Jackson, Melissa D. McJunkins, and Taneia O.C. Wall; a special home care provider and friend, Crystal Willaby; thirteen great grandchildren; fifteen great great grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
