Ruth Anna (Thomas) Moore of Maywood, born on March 6, 1956 in Chicago, Illinois to Robert Thomas, Sr. and Emma L. Thomas.
Ruth attended Mason Elementary School in Chicago, Illinois, Irving School where she was the head Cheerleader and Proviso East High School in Maywood, Illinois. She accepted her Lord and Savior at a young age under the leadership of Reverend T. H. Wade of Rock of Ages Baptist Church in Maywood, Illinois. Through her spiritual journey she later became a member of Proviso Baptist Church.
Ruth attended DePaul University. She worked at Marion Business Academy in Chicago, Illinois as an Administrator and Financial Aid Officer, under the leadership of Mr. Henderson. Early on, she adopted a passion to aid and support others in a professional manner while working at Devry University and Robert Morris College in Chicago, Illinois as a Financial Aid Advisor. She also worked as a tutor and substitute teacher.
Some of Ruth's hobbies and interests included writing, reading, dancing. She adored all types of music. Especially the songs that included Marvin Gaye. Ruth used television as an educational tool by enjoying Channel 11 and the news daily. Ruth loved helping others and would go out her way to be resourceful to whomever crossed her path.
Ruth was blessed to have known family that had gone on before her: her granddaughter, Ashley Marie; her father, Robert Thomas, Sr.; brothers, Charles Thomas, Robert Thomas Jr. (Cuda) and Tommie Gene Thomas; her sister, Rita McMillan; her nephew, Charles Lapre Thomas; and her cousins Gladys Brockington and Jesse Hooks, Jr. (Bug); and, her beloved son Pleas Moody (Tony).
Ruth is survived by her husband, Jerry 'Jack' Moore; daughters, Chanel Nicole Moody (Chris) and Emma Marie Branch (Dave); mother, Emma L. Thomas; sister, Imogene Thomas; brother Jeri Thomas (Juanita); grandchildren, Darryl, Diyahvion, N'yianna, Zaria, E'Marie and Da'Veya; nieces, Zay, Robi, Katina, Duwana, Tamica, Nikita, Lola, and Reanika; nephews, Lavell, Lamont, Elza Lamar and Jerri; her grand-dog Brownie and a host of family and friends.
