Sharon Petrice Cole was born July 23, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois to Claudia Roby and was the second of nine children.
Sharon was a graduate of Westinghouse Vocational High School where she desired a profession in health care. She graduated from High School as a Dental Assistant and later graduated from Truman College as a Registered Professional Nurse. She also taught board certification classes for Certified Nursing Assistance. Sharon worked in many fields of nursing, including Emergency Room, Clinical Nursing, and later as a Lead Nurse in Home Health and Long-Term Care. Sharon was a true healthcare provider who loved and cared about others in her over 40 years of dedicated service. She retired from Cook County Healthcare Systems after some 25 years of service. Sharon found her greatest joy in volunteering at a homeless shelter, although this was without recognition. Sharon was an advocate for those without direction. She honored her profession as a Registered Nurse, and she was always there for those in need of an experienced nurse. She knew how powerful the human touch was to those whom she cared for; she was a healer to those broken in heart.
Sharon was married to Roosevelt Cole for 51 years and in this union, she birthed three children who became her pride and joy. Sharon was a housewife and loved her family and grandchildren. She was devoted in every way and a true team player.
Sharon was a classic roller skater in her youth, she loved music, disco dancing, she was a good listener, inspirational, loved good conversations, a good book, vacations and life. She was the go-to in the family for all healthcare questions and clinical needs.
Sharon loved the Lord and found her place in various religious settings. She attended Rainbow House of Prayer under the leadership of Rev. Claudia D. McAllister.
Sharon was preceded in death by her mother, Claudia McAllister; and brother-in-law, Lynn Williams.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Roosevelt Cole; three sons, Cornelius McAllister, Kyrent Cole (Aletha), and Courtney Cole; six grandchildren, Gabriela Petrice McAllister, Armun Sibby, Khamal Cole, Kyrent M. Cole, Caiden Cole, and Nasir Cole; her siblings, Gwendolyn Williams, Howard R. McAllister III, Jacqueline Emory (Donald), Phyllis Roland-Evans (Brian), Claudia D. McAllister, Maurice McAllister (Patricia), Darcell McAllister, and Anitra McAllister.
Sharon leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom she loved very dearly.
