Shelton Thomas Duncan passed away on November 15, 2024, at the age of 90. He was born in Molden Town in Memphis Tennessee on October 8, 1934, to parents Mabel Rose and Benjamin Duncan.
He accepted Christ at an early age in Molden Town Tennessee Church of Christ under the leadership of pastor Thomas.
Shelton loved his country very much that he decided to enlist in the United States Army on 11/14/1957.
He was previously married to Pearlie May Duncan and had two children. He later met Carrie Will Buckner who preceded him in death. They were joined as one on April 1, 1965, and had four kids.
He worked at Skokie Valley Hospital now known as Rush Northshore Hospital for 30 years. As a family person, he was always there for his family no matter what the situation.
His favorite pastime was watching wrestling and chilling on the porch with his neighbors chatting, but do not even think about calling him “pops”-he hated that! And good luck if you stepped on his lawn-he’ would be naming you something crazy if he did not know you! He was one-of-a kind, and boy, we will surely miss him!
Shelton Thomas Duncan leaves behind a legacy cherished by his six children, Janice Dillard, Gregory Duncan, Frank Bonner Buckner, Anthony Duncan, Calvin Duncan, and Alvin Duncan; fifteen grandchildren 16 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
