A charming, big-hearted, diligent young man, Theophilous Jake Davis, Jr. lived fully. He packed so much life into his 35 years and 9 months on earth. From birth, he traveled between midwestern states which whet his appetite for seeing the world, in style. On his birthdays, you could find Theo driving the fanciest cars, wearing the trendiest clothes, and sporting the coolest haircuts while exploring America’s largest cities with his closest comrades. He understood that when you work hard, which he did, you should play hard.
Born on April 26, 1990, to Theophilous Jake Davis and Kendall Henderson, Theo Jr. “Lil Jake” brought much joy to many lives, beginning with his parents. One was easily enticed by his soulful eyes and that debonair smile. If you were blessed enough, you could catch Theo Jr. rhythmically rapping, jamming to hot tunes, and imitating tv characters.
Theo Jr. accepted Christ in the summer of 1999 at youth church here at Truth & Deliverance, now Zoe Life Ministries International and made an indelible impression on his instructors. His early education began with his 1st of many visits to the University of Iowa in the Fall of 1992. He attended Smyth Elementary and afterwards, went to attend the University of Iowa with his dad, have great roommates, create great relationships and finished in the Spring of 1999. Theo Jr. also attended Dodge Elementary and eventually graduated 8th Grade from Holy Angels Catholic School in June of 2004. He later graduated from Morgan Park High School in Chicago (Class of 2008) where he practiced principles of business, taught by his dad, by setting up the one-man pop-up candy and necessity shop. From this early venture, Theo Jr. learned that he was good at building relationships, selling, and negotiating.
Theo Jr. began his professional career with Target while he was a high school student. He worked in the capacities of associate and assets protection specialist during his 4-year tenure. Afterwards, he proudly worked as an asset protection investigator, coach and manager at Wal-Mart until his departure from this life. Theo Jr. would often talk proudly about how many apprehensions he would get monthly, in his store and other stores in the district. His impeccable work was officially recognized by Wal-Mart and resonated with his colleagues. One of Theo Jr. greatest personal accomplishments was passing the Chicago Police Officer Examination receiving his notice on October 24, 2024 (his mom’s birthday). Born into eternity on January 24, 2026, Theo is now enjoying the assets of Heaven.
Preceding Theo Jr. in death were his loving Mother, Kendall Henderson, his grandfather Walter Henderson Sr., grandmother Ruth Ashford and devoted great grandmother Thelma Price.
