Tina Gaines

Tina Marie Gaines was born May 20, 1957 in Chicago, IL to the union of Claude C. Roberts and Christine I. Roberts.

She grew up attending Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, while Rev. Joseph Sylvester was Pastor. She accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age. She sang in the choir. Tina maintained her connection with the church as it became the New Landmark Missionary Baptist Church under Pastor Cy Fields.

Tina graduated from Walther Lutheran High School in Melrose Park, IL in 1975. She then attended Triton College where she studied Business Administration. She worked for several companies in her lifetime including Quaker Oats and McDonalds Corporation.  

She was married June 5, 1982, to Lonzo Gaines. Of their union, two sons were born, Marcus Gaines and Michael Gaines.

Tina loved to travel. She traveled across North America, parts of Asia and many parts of Africa. She enjoyed collecting art from her travels.

Tina departed our life on Monday June 27, 2022.  She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Marcus, and Michael; her grandchildren, Maurice, Marlena, Zylnn, and Zhoiee Gaines; a brother, Claude Lewis Roberts; sisters, Alma Brooks, and Claudia Leach; nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other family members and friends.

Both parents preceded Tina in death. Our beloved Tina will be deeply missed.
