Ward Lee Jackson Sr, the 10th child of 14 of the late Gustavia and John Jackson. Ward was born November 11, 1935, in Greenwood, MS.
He met the love of his life Shirley Anne Curtis at church in Chicago, IL.
They were united in holy matrimony on April 8, 1960. To this union 6 children was born Ward Jr. (who preceded him in death), Iris (James), Linda (Dexter Sr.), Freeman, Randy, and David (Jolanda). Five grandchildren, Isiah, Dexter Jr, Deiondre, David & Paris.
Ward attended Coahoma College in Clarksdale, MS. Pursing healthcare credentials toward his medical degree, but discontinued medical college to help provide for his parents and siblings. After getting married, he attended IIT and received his A.A. degree in Computer Science. He retired from P-MOR Engineering in Franklin Park.
Ward was preceded in death by his 12 siblings, Mary, Josephine, Gertie, Sam, Herbert, George, Paul, Gussie, 2 sets of twins, and another sibling that died at birth.
He confessed Christ at an early age. He departed his life on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 6:02 a.m. at Loyola Hospital.
Ward was extremely smart. He was well loved by those that knew him.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Shirley, 5 children, 5 grandchildren, 1 sister Birdette, a host of nieces, nephews, many relatives and friends.
